Ms. Cydonie Mothersill, General Secretary of the Cayman Islands Athletic Association has been appointed to the NACAC Executive Council during the NACAC General Congress, held July 5 -7, 2019 in Queretaro Mexico.
Ms. Mothersill was also the highest recipient of votes for a single position, receiving 26 votes from 31 Member Federations. The President of the IAAF (Lord Sebastian Coe) was also in attendance and congratulated Ms. Mothersill for being a true representation of the sport throughout her years of competition and a true ambassador.
This is indeed a momentous occasion for the CIAA, as we now have direct representation on the NACAC Executive Council. Ms. Mothersill and the other newly elected members will officially assume their positions after the 52nd IAAF Congress in Doha Qatar- September 2019. The following is the newly NACAC elected Executive Council:
- President: Mike Sands (Bahamas)
- Vice President: Catherine Jordan (Barbados)
- Treasure: Stephanie Hightower (USA)
- Member: Cydonie Mothersill (Cayman Islands)
- Member: Evelyn Farrell (Aruba)
- Member: Calixto Sierra (Honduras)
- Member: Howard Cornelius (Antigua)
